So here's a story for you. One day, a couple of long time gamers who have just recently found themselves on the wrong side of 30 discuss the prospect of playing online multiplayer with their favorite FPS titles. 'Dude,' the one guy begins, '...online multiplayer is the number destination for unsupervised kids to scream the newest bit of profanity they picked up on the school bus ride that day. And not only are you enjoying the treat of listening to squeaky voices curse at you, you are also getting destroyed because these kids have far more free time to invest in gaming than established scholarly gentlemen such as ourselves.'

'Dude,' the other dude replies,'...I hear you. But what if we united with other older, scholarly gentlemen like us and stormed the online serves together?'

With that, the Kilo Yankee Platoon was born.

We are a platoon primarily comprised of folks around 30ish years old. Some are younger. And a few are older. Way, way older.

So why game with us? Well, if you are a seasoned gamer who would prefer to share game time with folks managing the same glorious adult responsibilities like work, rent or mortgage, family, etc., then we're your new best friends. Like you, we appreciate that free time can be hard to come by. So when you game with us, you are running with folks who do not want their time wasted either.

Are we competitive? We certainly play to win, focusing on the objective all the way. But we are not obsessed with being the best of the best...of the best. Instead, our goal is to enjoy the game and the company of friends above all else.

Do we have requirements for membership? Generally, we are looking for people in their late 20s and up. Why? Because we have found folks at that phase in their lives are more likely to share our relaxed attitude toward gaming. We also prefer to avoid jerks. Between the age stipulation and the jerk stipulation, the latter is the driving factor that determines whether you are allowed into our merry band of charlatans. We have made exceptions for gamers who are mature beyond their years who were also not jerks. But there's no bending on the jerk thing. Jerks are out.
