The 506th Infantry Regiment is a unit assigned to the 4th Brigade Combat Team (BCT)
of the 101st Airborne Division.
During World War II, the unit was designated
the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment
(506th PIR).

In recent times, the regiment gained widespread recognition
by virtue of the 2001 HBO miniseries
Band of Brothers.
