Established 2007. Originally formed around Rainbow Six Vegas' Attack & Defend mode and has been active through the entire Call of Duty series as well as Battlefield series on the PS3 console. The name is derived from a skate shop in Santa Monica, CA called "Rip City Skates" with which one of the founding members has affiliation. The logo was created with RSV's "elite" rank emblem in mind.
