In the late 1980`s the soviet army launched a series of tests near the remote village of Abakan is hopes of finding worthy successors to the Red Army`s outdated AK-series of automatic weapons.

After an extremely long and thorough testing regime, with the likes of legendary weapons such as the AEK-971 or AN-94, the new arsenal of soviet forces was kick-started into the 21st century.
