Särskilda Operationsgruppen (SOG, Special Operations Task Group), is a national strategic resource under the direct command of the supreme commander of the Swedish Armed Forces. Together with Specialförbandsledningen (SFL, Special Forces Command), they make the Swedish Special Forces (FM SF). The unit was created in 2011 by merging the two previous special forces units Särskilda Skyddsgruppen (SSG, Special Security Group) and Särskilda Inhämtningsgruppen (SIG, Special Intelligence Group).
The unit consist of a classified number of operatives recruited from all over the armed forces. Whilst most of their operations remain classified, their predecessor SSG is known to have conducted operations in Kongo, Chad and Afghanistan.
