Who was "White Death"
Simo Haya, the White Death,did. He was a finnish sniper in the Winter War between Finland and the U.S.S.R. He used a unscoped moison nagant rifle. He preferred the use of iron sights over a scope because it created far less of a target for enemy sharpshooters. He has around 500 kills over a span of 100 days, averaging 5 kills a day in the sparse daylight of Finland. He was operating in temperatures between -4 to -40 f. He also got 200 kills with an SMG as well. He is credited with being the most effective sniper in the history of warfare as well.
