If this is your first time visiting our forums, allow me to be the first to welcome you and give you some insight as to what Refuge Gamer is and was.

When we started Refuge Gamer in January 2008, we wanted to create a community based on the enjoyment of good gaming and good company. We wanted to create a place where people like yourself could come after a hard day of work or school, sit down in your favorite chair, kick it up and play the games you love. Furthermore, we wanted to provide our fellow gamers with a chance to enjoy yourselves without having to worry about game spoilers such as: hackers, unfair/juvenile admins, or that guy on the microphone who always calls you “Noob”. Although these things sometimes happen, we do our best to make sure they don't.

So, with a retreat from your work, a haven from game ailments - our philosophy: "A Refuge"

In our Refuge, although we label ourselves as a community (a group of people with a common background or with shared interests within society), we really consider Refuge Gamer to be a Family (a group of people functioning as a single household). We truly realize that the heart and soul of our servers and community lies with our regulars. With their hard work and dedication to Refuge, our community continues to grow.
