DEVGRU
Platoon Presentation
Supportive, tight squad play is the name of the game here.. Headsets preferred but not required. We will not simply invite or accept members into the platoon based solely on the fact that they are Battlefield 3 players that we know of--those that are invited or accepted to this platoon have played alongside other members of the platoon and have demonstrated that they are great team players.
As for the platoon emblem: It is important to be able to fend for yourself (shield), but equally important to be able to support your teammates (wing). The idea is alluded to in the movie 300 in the Hot Gates--their shields are for their own protection, and their spears for the man on their right...
Some key traits of the platoon:
- Stay tight and communicate: there is no point to a squad if the members are running rogue and not communicating; stay close to support squad with revives, health packs, repair tools, ammo crates, motion sensors, etc.; cover your appropriate sector/watch the flank etc.
- Be aggressive: always look to flank and take superior points on the map
- Use predominantly silenced weapons: The benefits of having no indicator on enemy radar, quiet profile, no muzzle flash, and reduced recoil far outweigh the slight bullet drop
- Always spot the enemy, pressing select when seeing an enemy should be instinctive
- No USASers unless you're using buckshot or flechette to clear halls/rooms, no frag rounds
- In a heli, preferably switch to Engineer, hop on a minigun and/or look to repair chopper in the open seat
- If a squad member is in a tank, jump in and assist with the machine gun and/or 3rd seat if possible
Recommendations and tips for the battlefield can be submitted in the thread below
