Welcome aboard to the USMC MILSIM Unit of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 on PS3 and PS4. We are based on the real life 1st Marine Battalion, 1st Marines or the 1/1. Our rank, structure, traditions, tactics and everything we do, we strive to do with as much similarity as the real 1st Marine Battalion.

We conduct MILSIM Operations within the Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 games and we play the game competitively against other units or clans. We are broken into different companies, platoons, squads and fireteams. We are a strict unit when it comes to training, MILSIM Ops and competition playing, but we also understand it is a game. So we do enjoy joking around and just enjoying the game from time to time when not conducting training, ops or etc.

[b]Brief History[/b]

The USMC MILSIM Unit was originally started on Battlefield 2 for PC back in June of 2005. During our time on Battlefield 2, we grew to more than 250 members and were one of the best MILSIM units on that platform. Also around that time, we began playing MILSIM Ops on ARMA: Armed Assault on PC with the Marine Corps skins and vehicle add-on. In 2007, we began playing competitively on Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat as well.

Unfortunately around 2009, our members began to dwindle down in numbers as more and more members began choosing the newer console gaming stations over upgrading computers. So in 2009, we made the switch from a PC gaming unit to Playstation 3 gaming unit and began playing on Call of Duty 4: Modern Combat and eventually Battlefield Bad Company 2. We eventually retired the unit due to loss of interest.

Then in 2013, we began getting more and more players from the unit back together. After extensive meetings, we have decided to bring back the USMC MILSIM Unit to Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. We are hoping that we can get things moving and have our unit back to the same glory it experienced back in Battlefield 2.

If you are interested in joining, make sure you meet the requirements and then follow the steps to join following.

[b]Requirements[/b]
-Be at least 16 or older and mature.

-Be willing to adhere to a chain of command and be under the authority of those ranking over you.

-Be willing to meet the minimum hours for training, ops and competitive play required to stay an active member. (For those that have long-term periods of inactive time can request before being dropped to be assigned to the Reserves Unit)

-Have a mic and use it to communicate/coordinate with team mates

-Play the objective and be a team player

-Be active on the website, Battlelog and/or Facebook page. This is so if new recruits or visitors need information there is almost always an active member available.

[b]Steps to Join[/b]

If you believe you meet the above requirements and are still interested joining, follow the steps below.

1. Apply to join on Battlelog, located at the top of this platoon page.

2. Add at least one Leader from the member list and contact them. Due to our procedures changing all the time, there may be additional steps required and a Leader can always help you get on the right track.

3. Come and play with the team, let us see who you are, how you play and what you are like. You will be submitted to a 2 week trial period, where the members can assess you and your skills. At the end, your name will be submitted in a poll on our forums for members to vote whether you should be accepted.

4. Once accepted, a trainer will be in touch to start scheduling the next Recruit and Infantry Training dates.

[b]Process of Becoming a member of our Unit[/b]

1. You apply and a recruiter will assist you through training.

2. You go through your 2 week assessment

3. You are voted in

4. Attend a 3 hour Recruit Training. Recruit Training will give you the basic foundation of what means to be a member of our unit, learn the history, tradition, rank and structure and more about our unit and the real Marine Corps in which we are based off of.

5. Attend a 3 hour, 2 day School of Infantry. Infantry Training will help shape you into a better player and member. You will go further in depth about our unit, the roles we have available, those you qualify for now and those you can achieve. Also while in Infantry Training, you will be trained for your particular role in our unit. Whether that is Engineer, Machine Gunner or etc.

6. Once you have completed the initial training, you will be placed with a personnel officer or clerk who will help you choose or be chosen for a platoon. This will depend on positions open in the unit, your availability, times you play and etc.

7. Once you have joined a platoon, you will then begin conducting weekly training, MILSIM Ops and competitive game play with your platoon. You will report to and follow the chain of command. Also once you have put in 2 months of time with the unit or unless included when you are enlisted in the unit, you can begin going to our other specialized schools. These include: Sniper School, Force Recon School, Aviation School (Jet and Helo), Armor School, NCO School, Squad Leader School, OCS and more to come.

[b]Rank and Structure[/b]

Within our unit, we have our own internal ranking system based on the real USMC. With that said, many want to know how they can be promoted when joining. Here is how we determine promotions and some ways to get there.

Promotions are given based on designated point system, time in the unit, experience in MILSIM Ops and competitive battle and if a position for that rank is available. You must meet these points and experience or be appointed by the Battalion Commander.

Some ways to earn points:

-Marksmanship - During recruit training, you will be given a marksmanship test and depending on your outcome, can earn you so many points towards promotion.

-Attending Training, MILSIM Ops and Competitions

-Attending additional schools

-Having time in the unit
