So what is damage, inc. all about? Ultimately it’s about people.
There’s been a trend over the past few decades, an encouraging of the “what can/have you done for me” attitude. Perhaps, in some small way, this clan is an answer to that. You see there are still a lot of us out there who believe in things like fairness and honesty and treating one another with respect, not because we’ve done something to EARN it, but because there’s simply no reason not to. People who believe that games are just that... games; an activity engaged in for diversion or amusement and conducted according to rules. People who believe that we can play those games, according to the rules, in the spirit the game was intended, and DESPITE all those limitations, we can still actually win.
We don’t cheat. We don’t glitch. We don’t intentionally lag. We don’t try and pad our stats by ignoring the actual objective in objective-based games and simply turning it into another Team Death Match.
We DO believe that the concept of good sportsmanship should be applied to the world of video games. That means things like fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing are practiced by our members.
We also believe firmly in the spirt of TEAMWORK. That means we work cooperatively to achieve a common goal. This is not about the individual’s achievement. No one here will praise you for posting great individual stats at the expense of the team. You have my back and I have yours. That applies both in game, in the lobby and, in many cases, in the real world.
We’ve tried very hard to create a community here. A haven in the storm of online video gaming. This community is based upon the ideas above, but it’s also based on more than that. Just following the rules and believing the philosophy is not enough. You also have to be willing to give something of yourself.
We’re all very different people, in very different situations. We have a wide range of differing religious, political, and social views. What we share though, is a belief that we are all people, that we’re all equal in that one fact, and deserving of one another’s respect. We may argue and disagree sometimes, but when push comes to shove, this clan pulls together for it’s members. If you’re not willing to listen, or to defend your team mates right to disagree with you, then you shouldn’t waste your time going through the recruitment process.
It’s not just what we offer you but what you, in turn, can bring to us that should impact your decision about joining damage, inc. There are many, many gaming clans out there, filling a wide range of gaming needs. We ask a lot more of our members than most clans, but that’s because we want members who fit our community... not just friends to play video games with.
