This platoon represents the clan ChV. Our community finally has a delegation here to continue its legacy from Halo, by implementing our teamwork to new games on the digital frontier of gaming.
V Click "view full presentation" V

Our community run this platoon in order to simply make the most out of this game. We plan on doing this by creating the most effective, tactical, mixed unit battle-group. Focusing on teamwork and communication, we will ensure victory by securing battlefield dominance wherever we roll.
While consisting mostly of mechanized units, our tactics involve several roles for infantry and inteligence as well, and any trooper in this group should make sure he will be able to perform several of the described roles here.

This page will be used for planning vehicle perks, and combined advantages. Like effective Target Designation, squad optimization and close cooperation between Commander, air support and miscelanous units.
We plan on making films from our work here, to be uploaded on our clans youtube-channel, linked above.

Even if your are not a full member of our clan, feel free to collaborate with us and apply to this platoon if you wish to participate, or if you consider joining our community.

Welcome and stay put, soldier.

Where to begin:
-Change your controls setup for vehicles. The default settings are really bad, and it's obvious you wont be able to keep the choppers hovering for very long with that crap. Talk to us in-game to instruct you on a good setup.

-Research vital tech; Laser designation is an underestimated tactic, and central to our work. This film will teach you how it is used: http://youtu.be/QiXZ4k5FD1Q [youtu.be]

-Figure out what kind of roles and positions you are able, and want, -to have on the battlefield. Are you a good jet-pilot? An effective tanker? A well coordinated medic? If you have preferances, let us know.

-Unlocking progress. Start unlocking vital gear and perks neccesary to pull of our advanced cooperation, like listed below.

-Team up! Communicate and plan out when to get online with the team to experience epicness.

TACTICS:

Grade tactics system: This section is often updated. Feel free to post ideas and ways to improve text. "P" stands for "players" and is there to clearly state how many players are needed (possible) to perform a certain Grade-tactic.

¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤

- Artillery style Designated Targeting tactics: To share targets and firepower, over long distances.

Grade 1 Designated: 1 Guided platform to stay in cover, 1 Recon or vehicle gunner to designate targets. 2p

Grade 2 Designated: 1+ Guided platforms, 2 Designator solutions. 3(4)p

Grade 3 Designated: 3+ Guided platforms, Engineer to maintain, 2+ Designator solutions. 5(7)p

(Hand held launchers are alone rarely considered fast enough to be counted as guided platform, but can suffice in some situations if backed by a Support constantly supplying him with ammo.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Armor Convoy tactic: The armored units are to keep each other alive by coordinating and engaging hostiles together. There will be a set Commanding vehicle.

Grade 1 Armor Convoy: 1 MBT, 1 Engineer for repair and gun. 2p

Grade 2 Armor: 2 MBTs, 2 Engineers for repair and gun on both tanks. 4p

Grade 3 Armor: 2 MBTs, 2 Engineers, 1 IFV/MBT/Amtrac, with 1 engineer to repair and gun. 6p

Grade 4 Armor: 2 MBTs, 3 Engineers, 1++ other armored unit, 1 Recon, at distance with MAV, to scan area for the convoy. 7 (9)p

(When Gunner is Engineer, the driver can instead be Support or another kind of vehicle amplifying setup. As Support you should remember deploy MP-APS to protect your armor)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

- Mechanized Infantry tactic: Since WW2 this has been important in real warfare because varied units are the most effective strategy; troops are to be transported inside fitting vehicles to the frontline, alongside heavier tanks.

Grade 1 Mechanized Infantry: 1 Armored Personel Carrier like IFV/Amtrac and its driver, with 1 Assault/Support soldier ready for deployment and rapid repacking. 2p

Grade 2 Mecha: 1 APC and driver, with 2 Infantry, ready for deployment. 3p

Grade 3 Mecha: 1 APC and driver, with 3+ Infantry. 4(5)p

Grade 4 Mecha: 2 APCs and drivers, with 2++ Infantry for both transports. 6(10)p

Grade 5 Mecha: 3 APCs and drivers, with 2++ Infantry for all transports. 9(15)p

(It is vital that the infantry carry relevant loadout for their vehicle, so that they can participate in whatever situation is neccesary. Most likely prioritize class like this; Assault, Engineer, Support. This should be well planned out before hostile contact)
---------------------------------------------------------------------

-C4 I.E.D Rambo Vehicle tactic: A "cheaper" way of neutralizing enemy armor.

Grade 1 IED rambo vehicle: Agile transport vehicle, 1 Support/Recon to mine up the vehicle with atleast 3 C4. Then drive around and ram enemy vehicles, jump of, and detonate explosive to destroy both vehicles. 1p

Grade 2 IED ram: 1 vehicle with driver, 1 Support with C4 and Ammo box. Support switch between gunner and side seat depending on target, and detonate when ramming vehicles, but killing only the enemy as there is no team damage. Support might want to jump out before ram to avoid suicide though. 2p

Grade 3 IED ram: 1 vehicle, 1 Support with C4 and Ammo box. 1 Recon somewhere else, to spot for vehicle targets. The explosive vehicle is very vulnerable to enemy fire, so it is not recommended to have a third passenger as gunner. 3p

---------------------------------------------------------------------

-Nightvision Special ops Infantry tactic: Specialized tactic for CQB situations and breaching. (Work in progress)

Grade 1 Nightvision ops: 2 infantry carrying smoke grenades and close range full auto weaponry, with Silencers and IRNV/FLIR sights. Stay cloaked by the smoke, allowing you to see everything and preventing the enemy from seeing anything, before they are suddenly watching the respawn-screen. 2p

Grade 2 Nightvision ops: 3 infantry carrying apropriate weapons and smoke. Make sure to have one of each class; Support, Assault and Recon, to get the full tactical range of equipment. 3p

Grade 3 Nightvision ops: 3+ infantry with apropriate gear, and 1 unit to give cover-fire, recognize or be decoy. This can be an IFV with Smoke launchers, a MAV, or something like an EOD bot. 4(5)p

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Shock Trooper style rush tactic: Dedicated team for storming infantry based areas, for example the map peak at the start of a game. Meant to be a "quick in-and-out operation".

Grade 1 Shock trooper: 3 Assault carrying rifles with Suppressor and Green laser sight, and recomended Defibrillator and Impact grenades, move and storm buildings as one, clearing rooms. 3p

Grade 2 Shock trooper: 3+ Assault with appropriate gear, and 1 dedicated transport unit, like a Transport heli or an Armored Personell Carrier, that is kept in motion during the deployment, to be ready for rapid redeployment and possibly give cover-fire. 4(5)p

---------------------------------------------------------------------
As you can see, some of these grade-tactics can be combined to effectively pull of several tactics at the same time without having to use twice as many players! Getting that organized is the goal.

Breaching-tactics:

Deadly standoffs, usually with a lot of grenadespamming, are a common situation on BF4. Just maintaining this boring situation with nonconstructive spraying and spamming is something that rarely gives us neither the stats or the entertainment we are looking for. What we rather should do is take advantage of this situation by taking decisive action and changing the fight to our premises. Here are some good options:

- Flank! Find the route around the frontline, and come up behind the enemy.

-Breach! By the means of Shock Trooper style Infantry tactic.

-Breach! By the means of the B-bot (EOD bot). The breach-bot has high resistance to explosives, so it can easily be driven through a grenade-filled corridor, and to the other side where it can create chaos by torching the unsuspecting enemy line.

-Fall back! Advance, in the other direction.. to lure the enemies out and fall into an ambush you’ve set up.

-Elevator? Elevators are a popular arena for many infantry confrontations. Both defending and attacking around an elevator involves many possible tactics. We should research the options..

Remember:

Dedicating a Recon unit to guard allied vehicles with a MAV or follow and designate for an Attack helicopter can be invaluable and super effective.

Passengers and gunners on vehicles should have the "backup perks" Fire Extinguisher and Maintenance as loadout kit on those same vehicles, so that in the case of an emergency repair you can switch seats for a moment to speed up recovery and stay defensive.

Spawn areas: Using the Transport heli, Amtrac, and Gunship as spawn areas is quite underestimated. This can be vital in certain objective games, and especially effective if coordinated with team.
