UNITED KINGDOM SPECIAL FORCES (UKSF)
The United Kingdom Special Forces was formed to draw together the Army's Special Air Service (SAS) and the Special Boat Squadron Royal Marines, which was renamed the Special Boat Service (SBS) at the same time, into a unified command, based around the former Director SAS who was given the additional title of Director Special Forces (DSF). The directorate has been expanded by the creation of the Joint Special Forces Aviation Wing, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) and the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG).

BRITISH SPECIAL FORCES (UKSF)
Special Air Service (SAS)
The British Army's most renowned special forces unit. From the moment several black-clad figures appeared on the balconies of the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980, the Special Air Service became 'celebrities' both at home and oversees. Their motto, 'Who Dares Wins', has become part of British popular culture.
Special Boat Service (SBS)
Less well-known than their army counterparts, the Special Boat Service is the UK's naval special forces unit. SBS operators tend to come from the Royal Marine Commandos although the SBS is tri-service. The SBS is part of UKSF, along with the SAS, SRR, and the SFSG.
Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR)
A relatively recently formed special forces unit of the British Army, specialising in surveillance and intelligence gathering operations. The secrecy surrounding the SRR is even greater than the SAS or SBS, with very little info about the unit leaking into the public domain.
Special Forces Support Group (SFSG)
Britain's newest special operations unit. Formed around a core component of members of the 1st Battalion, Parachute Regiment (1 para), with additional troops from the Royal Marines and the RAF regiment, the SFSG provides infantry and specialised support to SAS and SBS special operations.
14 Company
Also sometimes referred to as 14 INT, 14 Company, or 'The Det' - was a British Army special forces unit, established during the Troubles, which carried out surveillance operations in Northern Ireland.
E Squadron
One of the most shadowy of all British special forces units, E Squadron is small cell of UKSF operatives hand-picked to work with the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), otherwise known as MI6. E Squadron is believed to be available for tasking to both the United Kingdom Special Forces (UKSF) Directorate and SIS.
18 Signals Regiment
This group is part of the Royal Corps of Signals Created in 2005, along with the SFSG & SRR, 18 (UKSF) Signals Regiment is one of Britain's newest special forces units. It's remit is to provide signals support to other UKSF elements, such as the SAS and SBS.
